March - Three Things We Are Loving

Celebrate womanhood.

We Should All Be Feminists

We Should All Be Feminists

An exceptional book by an exceptional woman, Chimamanda Ngozi Adich: through personal anecdotes and insightful analysis, she encourages readers to embrace a more inclusive, equitable, and just future.

She explains what it means to be a feminist in her world. A word rife with misrepresentation, “feminist” is often used to undermine women’s rights and silence their voices.

But Adichie aims to destigmatize the term by demonstrating how it actually describes a belief in gender inequality. By exploring how inequality, stereotypes, and biases affect both men and women, she encourages readers to reframe feminism in a way that is full of positivity, inclusivity, and self-worth.

If you’re in search of a read this Women’s History Month, why not stop by your local female-owned bookstore and pick up a copy? Here are a few of our favorites:

Michelle Yeoh

Bravo! An astonishing win for Michelle Yeoh on Sunday, March 12 as she took home the Oscar for Best Actress in Everything Everywhere All At Once. Her acceptance speech exuded hope, positivity, womanhood and the power of dreaming big, driving home the sentiment that dreams can and do come true. In closing, Michelle thanked her family, friends, and moms: “I have to dedicate this to my mom, all the moms in the world, because they are really the superheroes and without them, none of us would be here tonight.”

Let’s take time to honor all the moms (and women) out there this Women’s History Month and beyond.

And remember, “Ladies, don’t let anybody tell you you are ever past your prime.” 😉

First Women’s Bank

First Women’s Bank

It’s empowering to see women supporting women, and that’s exactly what this bank does. While women-owned businesses are growing two times faster than the national average, they only receive 16% of all conventional business loans.

When the pandemic hit, CHILL’s business was turned upside down—we went from in-person offerings to a global digital wellbeing platform. Many businesses, including CHILL, needed support, and First Women’s Bank stepped up to help. Thank you FWB!

Many strong, ambitious, and determined women have played an integral part in the success and growth of CHILL. And we are proud to continue to grow our community of women (and our male allies, colleagues, and supporters) as we help people live less stressed, more mindful lives.
